Ginola unlikely to wear Villa shirt again
Ginola, who was revealed on Friday to have been a target for Preston North End, has not seen eye-to-eye with the Villans boss since moving to Birmingham from Tottenham Hotspur 18 months ago.
Gregory, whose own job at Villa appears precarious after the club's recent poor form, said Preston were one of three sides to have enquired about the former French international and feels the player will leave for pastures new before long.
"Can I see David starting a game for us again? Probably not if I am being honest," Gregory said.
"I think at the moment Kachloul, Barry and Hendrie are all fighting for the left-hand side of midfield.
"David wants to play football which is totally understandable. He still wants to play and any footballer worth his salt wants to be first choice - whether it's down a division or not.
"We've had three clubs that have shown an interest in wanting to take David - including two in the Nationwide League but no Premiership sides, but they have wanted to get involved in some kind of part payment scheme for the rest of the season.
"It will be a board decision over what to accept but, if it suits all parties, I'm sure we'll be able to come to some sort of agreement."
