Morrison fined for late night antics

OWEN MORRISON is the latest player to fall foul of the temptations of alcohol with the Sheffield Wednesday ace picking up a two-week fine for late night drinking.

The Northern Ireland forward, 20, was caught out in the early hours of Thursday morning, a day after the Worthington Cup semi-final first leg defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

Carlton Palmer, now in charge at struggling Stockport County, had his contract with The Owls cancelled by Terry Yorath amid drink-related rumours and the Welshman appears to be taking a hard stance on unprofessionalism at the club.

Owls coach Yorath is desperate to eradicate such examples of ill-discipline at Hillsborough and the estimated £8,000 fine issued to Morrison should act as a warning to other professionals at the Sheffield club.
