Maniero has been heavily linked to the London side, after a multi-million pound move for Valencia's John Carew collapsed, but it would appear that the transfer is not as close as some sources suggest.
Alberto Minazzi, the Venezian press officer, told planetfootball.com: "Maniero is not close to signing for Fulham. This afternoon he trained with the side as usual.
"There has been nothing new about the Maniero affair over these past few days.
"Surely Fulham are interested in our player, but some other clubs want him too."
Milan and Atalanta are believed to be interested in Maniero along with Fulham and the player looks likely to leave the Serie A outfit.
