Bosvelt back in action

PAUL BOSVELT expressed delight at finally making a return to action, but the Feyenoord midfielder conceded he is still lacking rhythm.

The Dutch international has been plagued by injury this season, and suffered a broken cheekbone for the second time, against PSV Eindhoven in December.

Bosvelt had corrective surgery before Christmas, and is now on course to be fit for the Eredivisie resumption at the end of the month after playing 90 minutes on Thursday.

After the comfortable 7-1 win over amateur side RVVH, a game which also saw Ferry de Haan return from a groin injury, Bosvelt told the Feyenoord website: "I'm happy to have played a game again.

"Actually, I wanted to play on Gran Canaria, but the doctor advised me to take some rest. I was ready today, though.

"I'm obviously missing rhythm, but I'm happy to have played the 90 minutes without any trouble."

Meanwhile, coach Bert van Marwijk expects to make a decision on Chilean trialist Maurico Aros at some point over the weekend.

The full back has impressed during the Rotterdam club`s winter training camp, but van Marwijk feels he has not been truly tested and is reticent to sanction a deal.

"Let me say Aros is a good footballer," van Marwijk noted. "He generally makes the right decisions but has been limited by the opposition he has played against.

"That makes it difficult to assess how he will react under pressure. I would like to talk with the rest of the staff, we should know more soon."
