McCall misquoted about quitting

STUART McCALL believes he was 'badly misquoted' about leaving Bradford City at the end of the season, according to chairman Geoffrey Richmond.

McCall, who stood accused of drink driving, reportedly told a court that he needed his car to find a new place of employment, as he would not have his contract renewed by Bradford.

However, Richmond has quickly reassured fans that the veteran's future has not been decided and that the midfielder was 'distraught' that the quotes appeared in the press.

"Stuart rang me at home last night distraught at the way he had been misquoted," said Richmond.

"He has done an interview with a local newspaper already saying he has been badly misquoted following his statement.

"Stuart has made no decision yet on his future and there has certainly been no decision by the club - and there won't be until later in the season."
