PSV plan ahead

PSV EINDHOVEN learned from last season`s problems and registered their Uefa Cup squad changes ahead of the deadline.

The Eredivisie outfit were embarrassed last term when they failed to register Ruud van Nistelrooy upon his return from injury and the Dutch assassin had to sit out the quarter final with Kaiserslautern.

This was something of a disaster for Erik Gerets` side, and they have ensured this does not happen again by registering their players now.

Gerets (pictured) has contacted Uefa with his changes, with untried duo Leandro Bonfim and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar added to the squad.

The pair, both 18, have yet to experience top-flight football and it is a bold move by Gerets.

PSV entertain Leeds on February 21, and the duo are sure to be buoyed by the possibility of European football.
