Macca's World Cup fear
STEVE MCMANAMAN has expressed his concern for his place in England's World Cup squad if he fails to force his way back into the Real Madrid line-up.
The former Liverpool midfielder has been a frustrated figure at The Santiago Bernabeu in recent weeks due to a back injury.
He is now fit and raring to go, but Real's impressive surge to the top of La Liga table in his absence means he is not guaranteed an automatic recall.
McManaman admits that it is imperative he earns a restoration to the team, otherwise his dreams of making the trip to The Far East could be in tatters.
"I am fit enough to play again. I just need minutes on the pitch," he said.
"In the games that I have been watching, Real Madrid have played very well, but it is important that I get back in the team."
