Aimar jealous of Zidane role

PABLO AIMAR has revealed his jealousy of Zinedine Zidane, who the Argentinian believes is the only player given the freedom of role he wants to in Spain.

After arriving from River Plate, Aimar has had an up-and-down career at Valencia but is beginning to enjoy the fruits of his labour as his side climb up the table.

Aimar said: "Zidane's position would be my choice. But I came to Spain to deal with everything.

"Good things have come up this year, but I always want more.  I am not satisfied just playing."

Aimar admitted that he was 'disappointed' with his own performance, saying: "I haven't had consecutive games and I haven´t given all that was expected.  You have to do well always and maybe I wasn't doing it."

Talking about Spanish football, the former River Plate star said: "Football here is very well played.  La Liga is, if not the best, one of the best leagues in the world.  Here is where I have to try to stay.

"I don´t know if I am a star.  What I know is that I am growing and learning as a footballer.  I thank the people for their support."

Regarding Valencia's current situation he stated: "Next month is going to be difficult.  The team can be at the top if it keeps going well.  But you can slip down if you lose a game, and if you win you are again in the battle."
