L'OM loan move for Torrisi
The one-time Italian international has a wealth of experience after spells with Torino, Bologna and Parma where he has been a fringe player this season.
"He is a strong, powerful Italian who will help (Daniel) Van Buyten in the centre of defence," said sports director Bernard Tapie (pictured).
The imminent arrival of the 30-year-old does, however, come at a cost with l'OM needing to offload a forward to balance the books.
"To welcome this player we need to part with a forward. It will be (Pascal) Nouma or Fernandao. We have propositions and we will decide on Thursday.
"Moreover, I think Ibrahim Ba has almost found a solution in England."
Mallorca are the latest team to show an interest in the former French international winger, and it is not yet known which English club is trying to sign him.
