Ricketts makes Bolton pledge
MICHAEL RICKETTS has pledged to focus on his career at Bolton Wanderers and put aside any hopes of a possible England call-up for this summer's World Cup.
The 23-year-old striker, who has been a revelation at the Reebok Stadium with his 15 goals this season, hopes his exploits will keep The Trotters in the Premership.
Ricketts failed to make the scoresheet on Tuesday as Bolton crashed out of the FA Cup to Tottenham 4-0, despite being watched in the crowd by England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Ricketts has been tipped for an England call-up, who is also eligible to play for The Reggae Boyz of Jamaica.
Ricketts confirmed his Bolton pledge, saying: "I am ambitious but my aim is playing for Bolton and helping them stay up. We all need to stick together."
