Rexach: The tortilla has turned

BARCELONA striker Patrick Kluivert has played down his side's recent form, despite manager Carles Rexach claiming the Catalans were back in La Liga's title frame.

Having lost consecutive games against Rayo Vallecano and Osasuna, there were calls for Rexach's head but since then Barca have gone on a two game winning streak, although Kluivert did not believe this was anything to be pleased about.

"There is still much to do," said Kluviert.  "Although, now the morale is far better.

"But as yet, we have done nothing.  We have taken advantage of the opportunity to get back into contention, but still there is much left to do.

"There have only been two victories in two consecutive games.  The surprise thing of this league is that everything can change in two games."

Rexach, meanwhile lauded his team using bizarre food references, saying: "The tortilla has been turned over.

"Now everyone is looking at a very different scenario here at Barcelona and the ones who are worrying are Real Madrid.  In football everything can change so quickly and inside a week we are back in the championship race and the top places have all changed again.

"While Madrid, Celta Vigo and Deportivo have all faltered the most consistent side have been Valencia and they are now rightly at the top.  I called for the supporters to get behind us against Sociedad and they did just that and the team responded magnificently.

"We have to be prepared for more of the same because I have said all along that February is a very tough month for us, but we have made a good start."
