Toffees sign Ginola
The French flair has been well down the pecking order at Villa Park, and has ended his Midlands nightmare by joining The Toffees despite seeing a new manager take the reins at Villa Park.
Graham Taylor`s appointment as the replacement for John Gregory could have heralded a new dawn for the former Newcastle winger, but he has decided to cut his losses and move Goodison Park for the remainder of the season.
Ginola confirmed the move on his personal website, Ginola14.com, saying: "I have just signed for Everton until the end of this season."
It would seem that the deal is with a view to a longer contract, with Ginola adding: "As you all know, things have unfortunately not worked out for me the way I would have wished at Aston Villa, and I was due to leave in the summer. But Villa have agreed to release me now and I am delighted to say that I have signed for Walter Smith at Goodison Park."
The former France international expressed a sense of relief at joining The Toffees, adding: "This move feels like a new lease of life for me. I was in danger of going a bit stale in the reserves at Villa Park, but now I have the chance to play Premiership football again - which for me is the best league in the world.
"I have signed in time to be eligible to face Arsenal on Sunday - so what a fantastic start that will be for me if Mr Smith includes me in his team plans. Also, as I have not played in the FA Cup this season for Villa, I am not cup-tied, and can hopefully help the Toffeemen continue their cup run."
Ginola is hoping to return to his dazzling best, commenting: "I want the Everton fans to know that I shall give 100 percent, and I hope to excite them as much as possible.
"The club's first priority is to guarantee their Premiership status this season and I shall do all I can to help. I also hope the prospect of Ginola and Gazza excites them as much as it does me!"
On a busy day for The Toffees, they have completed the signing of midfielder Lee Carsley from Coventry and he will also be available to face The Gunners.
