Ambrosini blow for Milan
MILAN and Italy midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has undergone knee surgery and will be sidelined for circa a month according to the club's official website.
Ambrosini was carried off in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Perugia and it represents another setback for the Italian international who was making his return to action after 10 months on the treatment table due to ligaments torn in January 2001.
The 24-year-old was hopeful of catching the eye of Italian national coach Giovanni Trappattoni with the World Cup on the horizon, but must now he must endure more time on the sidelines.
"The time of his return to action will be 4-5 weeks, if there are no complications," read an official Milan statement.
