Lens still wait on Diouf
The Senegal star, who is the current African Player of the Year, has not returned to the squad for training after his side lost the African Cup of Nations final to Cameroon on penalties.
Diouf missed a spot kick in the shootout, and has not returned to Joel Muller's side since.
Following Lens' recent slump in form, including a 1-1 draw with Lorient in their last game, Muller is desperate to get one of his main stars back in action as they go in search of the French league title.
"We missed him," admitted Muller. "When we are playing not so well, he is a fixed point able to keep the ball and we needed him against Lorient.
"This boy needs to be well surrounded, but he was back to his faults during the African Cup of Nations.
"However, we must not ban him from the group but he must understand that we lost two points and he has to prove his desire to do everything for the club.
"We must find again the Diouf we used to know."
Lens chairman Gervais Martel is not so calm about the matter and is said to be furious with the 21-year-old, and ready to hand him a hefty fine when he finally returns to the Stade Felix-Bollaert.
