Youri signs in at Bolton
The French international ended his nightmare stint with Kaiserslautern recently, and is keen to give his career fresh impetus with the Premiership strugglers.
Indeed, 'The Snake' still harbours hopes of playing in the World Cup finals this summer, before retiring from the international game.
"I had other offers in England but I think my meeting with Sam was very important and the feeling was very clear," the 33-year-old stated.
"It makes a difference.
"That's why I chose Bolton. They have good ambition and it is a good destiny for me to come here.
"Every game is important and we have ambition.
"The atmosphere is very important after my problems at Kaiserslautern, and they proposed me a great challenge.
"I want to find a good level in the league. This feeling was most important.
"I am very, very happy to be here. I hope to have a good time here. I hope to do my best for Bolton.
"It is a big challenge to help Bolton - we are near relegation but also near a European place.
"When in Germany, my ambition was to play in the World Cup, and to work very hard for the national team.
"My body and fitness is very good, and I want to prove that.
"All my French team-mates called me and were very happy for me. England is a good place for French players."
Allardyce admitted: "It was very hard work but very fruitful."
