Canham signs new Orient deal

LEYTON ORIENT have rewarded midfielder Scott Canham for his recent fine form with a new one-year contract at Brisbane Road.

Canham has scored three times for The O's over the past two months, including one goal at Everton in the FA Cup fourth round last month.

He was re-signed for this season by former Orient boss Tommy Taylor from non-league Chesham United.

However, Canham chance to impress with the East London side came through current manager Paul Brush, who gave him a first team chance. He has since established himself in The O's centre of midfield.

The club had announced this week that all out-of-contract players in the summer would have talks put on hold, but Canham was able to beat that deadline after agreeing a new deal with Brush and Orient chairman Barry Hearn.
