Govou set for Lyon exit?

LYON playmaker Sidney Govou has admitted that he could be set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has put in a string of fine displays this season and has been linked with moves to big-name clubs across Europe.

Govou says that he will make a decision soon about his future, although he does have kind words for Jacques Santini's side.

"It is true I will have to take a decision soon, if possible before the European Championship with French under-21, as the national coach asked us," said Govou.

"Of course, I feel very well in Lyon and I am grateful to them for what they have given me. It is an ambitious club and I am still under contract until 2006.

"If I would stay a little more, I would play without reservation. On the other hand, in this job, you mustn't miss the opportunities that come. "

Despite his fondness for the club, it looks likely that he will be leaving the Stade Gerland, and says that he prefers a switch to Spain or England.

"If I have to leave, it will be necessarily to forge ahead, a transfer for a great French club like PSG to see Le Championat from a new angle, or to discover something else in a foreign country. Except for one club, I am not really interested by Italy. I have preference for England or Spain."
