Bolic blasts Sander play-acting

SANDER WESTERVELD is at the centre of a diving row with Rayo Vallecano striker Elvir Bolic accusing the Real Sociedad custodian of theatrics in the 2-2 draw between the two sides over the weekend.

The former Liverpool keeper appeared to be punched by Bolic two minutes after the interval and the Bosnian international duly received his marching orders from the referee, despite pleading his innocence.

"I did not touch him," insisted Bolic. "When I approached him he threw himself to the ground and I never imagined I would get a red card for it.

"Westerveld fouled me and I got up and went over to him and, as I did so. He just went down in a heap and started clutching his face. I couldn't believe it."

Despite the dismissal of Bolic, Vallecano managed to claw back a two goal deficit and levelled the score-line claiming a vital point in their fight against relegation.

However, Bolic is furious at the sending off which could see him miss some important matches for the Madrid-based outfit and the incident could be reviewed using TV replays to decide whether the red card should be rescinded.
