Frings craves Dortmund switch
The 25-year-old German international has been in sparkling form for Werder this season but a lack of international recognition from coach Rudi Voller has prompted Frings to seek a move to one of the German big-guns.
"If I can I will be at Dortmund in the summer," Frings is quoted as saying in the 'Syker Kreiszeitung'.
"My agent Norbert Pflippen has held talks with Borussia Dortmund and other clubs in the past few weeks. Dortmund are my first choice.
"The club can try to talk me round as much as they like. Even if we became champions I would not sign a new deal."
Frings wants to compete in the higher echelons of European football and with Werder poised for a Uefa Cup spot at best Frings want a move to one of the sides set for Champions League qualification.
"I want to play international football for a long time. It is not enough to go a few rounds in the Uefa Cup every few seasons. Success is the most important thing and if I can't have that here in Bremen I have to go somewhere else," vowed the player.
Bremen sporting director Klaus Allofs has labelled Frings 'priceless' and insisted the club will fight tooth and nail to keep the £5 million-rated midfielder at the Weserstadion.
