PSG claim points in Corsica - Lens and Lyon win
Luis Fernandez`s PSG are attempting to secure European qualification at the very least, and they produced a gritty display to claim all the points from their trip to Corsica.
Despite being in the lower reaches of le Championnat table, Bastia are stubborn opponents and they made PSG work throughout.
The game was evenly spread in the first period, but PSG took control immediately from the restart and went ahead on 49 minutes.
Ogbeche collected a pass from Hugo Leal and beat the dive of Nicolas Penneteau with a low shot.
Bastia came out strong after going behind, but could not find a way past Lionel Letizi.
They had Frederic Mendy sent off for a tackle on Parralo Cristobal in injury-time and this appeared to end their challenge.
However, Bastia mounted one last attack and came within inches of snatching a point as Tony Vairelles` 25-yard effort deceived Letizi but, luckily for PSG, bounced to safety off of the post.
A 20-yard drive by Antoine Sibierski that deflected off of Dominique Arribage and flew past Eric Durand, and a late Stephane Pedron strike were enough for leaders Lens to take all the points from their home clash with Rennes.
A second-half strike by the prolific Sonny Anderson was enough for Lyon to keep on the coattails of leaders Lens. Eric Carriere found the Brazilian forward and he lofted the ball into the net to seal a vital three points in their game with Monaco.
Dagui Bakari scored the only goal of the game as Lille kept their European push on track with a 1-0 win at struggling Metz.
Cedric Mionnet was on target for Sedan as they eased their relegation fears with a 1-0 win over Bordeaux.
Nantes are still looking over their shoulders as they were held to a 0-0 home draw by Sochaux.
The game of the night was at Stade du Roudourou, as Guingamp ran out thrilling 4-3 winners over Lorient.
Guingamp appeared to be cruising when two goals shortly after half-time by Cedric Bardon and Stephane Carnot had them in the ascendancy. However, strikes by Jean-Claude Darcheville and Moussa Saib levelled the tie.
This stung the home side into action and strikes by Carnot and Florent Malouda restored Guingamp`s two-goal advantage.
A late finish by Darcheville proved nothing more that a consolation for Lorient as Guingamp grabbed the points.
Troyes proved too strong for Montpellier as goals by Mamadou Niang and Patrice Loko sealed a comfortable win.
