Tjikuzu banished from the squad

WERDER BREMEN full-back Razundara Tjizuku has been removed from the first team squad for an indefinite period after failing to turn up to training on time.

It was not the first time that the 22-year old Namibian international failed to arrive on time for training but his latest episode seems to be the last straw for Bremen manager Thomas Schaaf who relegated the player to the club's amateur squad with immediate effect.

"We will keep a close eye on Razundra Tjizuku's behaviour," Schaaf told Werder's official website. "We must try to get him back on the right course, but he hasn't got many chances left to prove himself."

Tjizuku, who looks likely to line up for the amateurs in the regional league on Sunday, claimed to have seen the error of his ways after a crisis meeting with both Schaaf and director of sports, Klaus Allofs.

"I've made a real mess of things," he said, "I owe Thomas Schaaf a lot and have let him down badly. I will do everything possible to see that it doesn't happen again."
