Royals take Branch on loan
READING have signed Wolves' striker Michael Branch on loan until the end of the season, as Royals boss Alan Pardew tries to boost his squad for the final push to claim the Division Two title.
Branch started his career as a trainee at hometown club Everton, before joining the Molineux outfit on loan in 1999 then completing a permanent move for £625,000 in January 2000.
The former England Under-21 international has made more than 60 appearances for the Black Country club but has only played in seven matches this season under boss Dave Jones.
His last appearance for Wolves came in January in a 1-0 defeat at Barnsley and he is currently on the transfer list with a year left on his contract.
Branch has been on loan before at Manchester City and Birmingham, when he was under contract at Goodison Park.
