Brett will not be cheap - Feyenoord

FEYENOORD have vowed not to let Australian ace Brett Emerton leave on the cheap and the club's technical director Rob Baan accused interested parties of being cheapskates.

The right-sided midfielder has attracted the interest of a number of clubs, including Premiership duo Newcastle United and Leeds United, with stellar performances in De Eredivisie and his Dutch employers want big-money for the 23-year-old.

"If clubs are interested they must also pay the price and that is the problem for most of them," said technical director Rob Baan.

"We will not sell a player such as Brett Emerton for peanuts."

Emerton has already expressed his desire for a move to The Premier League but his Dutch employers are thought to be seeking a £10 million fee.
