Sammer in Amoroso bust-up

BORUSSIA DORTMUND coach Matthias Sammer has spoken about his bust-up with star striker Marcio Amoroso during his side's 3-0 victory over Energie Cottbus.

The Brazilian striker, who missed a host of chances during the game and had a goal disallowed, refused to come off 20 minutes from time and squared up with the former German international after finally being withdrawn.

"It was obvious I had a big problem with him as he didn't want to come off the pitch," explained Sammer. "I was fuming and he was fuming, as well.

"He is a very emotional player and generally I like players who always want to play the full 90 minutes, but he has to accept my decision as I have the final say over team matters and not just an individual player."

Amoroso is the top scorer in the Bundesliga this season with 16 goals following his big money move from Parma and understandably Sammer is keen to repair relations as soon as possible.

"I am not an unforgiving character and I hope to soon talk this through with Marcio."
