Roda striker injury woe

The Greek striker sustained the injury during last Sunday's clash with FC Groningen. Following examination, it is very unlikely that Anastasiou will play again this season, as the recovery is anticapated to take six weeks.

The 29-year-old has already had his ankle put in  plaster, which will be removed next week before being replaced with bandaging.

The injury will come as a bitter blow to both player and club, as Anastasiou is Roda's top scorer this season, netting ten goals in the KPN Eredivisie for the Kerkrade side.

He has netted a further four goals in the Dutch cup this term, bringing his season's tally up to fourteen.

Anastasiou is in his second year at Roda, where last season he finished as top scorer with nineteen goals.
