MVV want Van der Leur back
The 36-year-old has earned the name Mr Roda after playing more than 400 games for the club, but has been forced down the pecking order in Kerkrade in recent weeks.
He was not named in the squad that travelled to Groningen at the weekend, casting further doubt over his long-term future at the club.
Van der Luer made his debut as a professional for MVV on August 25, 1982 and it would be an emotional return to his first club.
MVV have a young squad and they see van der Luer as the ideal person to lead them through the rigours of a Gouden Gids Divisie campaign.
He played 92 games for MVV, scoring 14 goals, and moved to Roda in 1988 after one season at Belgian club Assent.
Meanwhile, Roda`s Greek striker Yannis Anastasiou is expected to miss the remainder of the season after damaging his ankle in the weekend win over Groningen.
