Crossley pens new Boro deal

The 32-year-old was out of contract in the summer and it had looked as if the former Nottingham Forest man would leave.

However, despite offers from a number of English and continental clubs, Crossley has decided to stay with Boro.

Crossley has played 17 games this season, due to Mark Schwarzer's absence through international duty and injury.

The Welsh international managed nine clean sheets and was very unlucky to be dropped upon Schwarzer's return from injury.

However, Crossley is willing to continue his fight with the Aussie and has penned the new contract.

Meanwhile, Boro have confirmed that they are in talks with midfielder Robbie Mustoe over a new one-year deal.

Mustoe, Boro's longest serving player, is out of contract in the summer along with fellow midfielder Paul Ince.

Whilst Mustoe will almost certainly sign there is still doubt over whether Ince will stay.

The former England man has always stated his desire to remain on Teesside, but the two parties have yet to agree a deal.

Ince's recent form, however, has led calls to calls from the Riverside faithful for their skipper to be handed new terms - it remains to be seen whether Boro's hierarchy will relent and agree a new contract.

Boro have also tied down four of their brightest stars in Luke Wilkshire, Stuart Parnaby, Brad Jones and Arturo Bernhardt.

Aussies Jones and Wilkshire, like England youth international Parnaby have signed two-year deals, whilst Brazilian Bernhardt has signed a 12-month extension.
