Michael Reddy for Tykes switch

BARNSLEY have brought in Premiership firepower in the form of Sunderland's Michael Reddy as they bid to avoid the drop into Division Two.

There are currently four points seperating five teams at the bottom of the First Division and although The Tykes are the top scorers out of those, they have also shipped the second most amount of goals in the league.

However, manager Steve Parkin has decided to boost his striking force with a move for Reddy, who was not allowed to go to Hull City last month by The Black Cats.

At the time Reddy was recovering from a hamstring injury, something that has hampered him from October, but having proven his fitness in reserve outings, Parkin has made his move.

The 22-year-old will be plunged into a relegation battle and could do his long-term chances a lot of good if he can keep the Yorkshire side in the First Division.
