Ravanelli wants to stay at Derby
The former Juventus, Middlebrough, and Lazio striker made his thoughts known, despite Derby's 2-0 defeat at Southampton on Saturday, which takes the club closer to the drop into Division One.
Ravanelli said: "I have one more year on my contract. I want to respect that and stay at Derby.
"I'm very happy here. My children and family are happy here. It is a very good area, a fantastic city for me.
"I want the fans to understand my position. The speculation about me leaving is very bad. It is impossible for me to go back to Italy or to another club.
Ravanelli thinks Premiership survival is still possible, should the Pride Park side put some good performances together to finish the season, but 'The Silver Fox' remains realistic.
He added: "It is very difficult for us to stay in the Premiership now but we have four games left and must play very well to have a chance.
"If Derby go down to the First Division, it is important we come back quickly. I want to help the team to do that.
"If the gaffer says to me that I have to go, I would be very disappointed. I have no problem with John Gregory.
"I enjoy working with him and this team. This is a big club with big fans."
Italian sources have credited Perugia with an interest in the former Juventus hit-man.
Despite the Italian's pledge to Derby, Rams boss John Gregory stated that changes are afoot for next season.
Gregory said: "There are many problems right the way through the club that have festered and got bigger and bigger.
"They need to be dealt with over the forthcoming weeks. The whole place needs to be run more professionally.
"There will be a big shake-up. It would have been much better to do it as a Premiership club but that is looking increasingly difficult now."
