Martin looking for French return

The 30-year-old full back only moved to Easter Road in February after being signed by fellow Frenchman Franck Sauzee, but has followed the manager in leaving Edinburgh.

The arrival of Bobby Williamson as new manager to replace Sauzee has signalled the end of Martin's stay at Hibs, and he would love a return to Le Championnat.

The former Marseille man spent the end of last season on loan at Derby County after falling out-of-favour at Stade Velodrome, but he is looking for the chance to prove himself in France.

Division Two side Nice are interested in Martin moving to The Municipal du Ray, but that deal seems to rely on Sandro Salvioni's men gaining promotion to Le Championnat, and they currently lay a point outside the promotion spots.
