Batigol out for Argentina
ROMA striker Gabriel Batistuta has been forced to withdraw from Argentina's squad for this week's international friendly with Germany through injury.
The prolific hit-man suffered a slight concussion after a nasty collision with Parma defender Fabio Cannavaro in Sunday's 3-1 win.
Batistuta received eight stitches in his lip after the clash and the former Fiorentina star admitted he cannot remember a thing about the incident.
"I don't remember anything that happened, I only remember up to the jump," Batistuta told Argentina daily Clarin.
It was hoped that the game with Germany would allow Batistuta to make his first appearance for his country since the qualifying win over Paraguay last November.
Barcelona ace Javier Saviola has been called up by Argentina coach Marcelo Bielsa to replace Batistuta in the squad.
