Quinn one of many eyed by Willem

EXCLUSIVE
WILLEM II have confirmed to planetfootball.com that James Quinn is one of a number of players they are casting admiring glances at.

The West Brom striker is currently on loan at Division Three strugglers Bristol Rovers, but will be available on a free transfer in the summer.

Willem have confirmed that they are aware of Quinn, and have been impressed with what they have seen as they seek a replacement for Mariano Bombarda, who is set to depart on a Bosman in the summer.

Speaking to planetfootball.com, Willem director of football Martin van Geel confirmed that Quinn is a player they are aware of.

"Yes, that is correct," said van Geel. "We are looking at him.

"We have not contacted the player yet, we are just watching him.

"At the moment, we have not made any contact, we are just following him in matches.

"We are not at the point yet where we will make serious contact."

When asked if the club have been impressed, van Geel added: "We have seen him in a couple of games and because we are going back you can conclude that we like what we have seen and may be in touch in the future."

Quinn is not the only player interesting Willem, as van Geel confirmed Den Bosch flyer Bart van den Eede is also catching the eye.

"There is interest in a couple of players," he added. "Bart van den Eede is one and there are several others in our minds."

Quinn could be in direct competition with the highly-rated van den Eede for one spot at Willem, as van Geel concluded: "We definitely want at least one striker for next season, but at this moment we want three or four more players in total for next season."
