Southgate break confirmed
MIDDLESBROUGH'S injury ravaged squad has been dealt another blow with the news that Gareth Southgate has broken his nose.
The England international suffered the injury during Boro's 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town on Wednesday evening.
The club confirmed the news saying: "We can only say that Gareth has broken his nose."
Southgate's World Cup place will not be in jeopardy as the former Villa stopper could very well feature in Saturday's game against Chelsea.
Boro had nine first team members missing from the game against Ipswich, which saw manager Steve McClaren hand a debut to 17-year-old Stewart Downing - who impressed on his first team bow.
