Ajaccio sign veteran defender
AJACCIO have commenced their squad-strengthening plans for next season in Le Championnat by signing experienced Nancy defender Laurent Moracchini.
The 34-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the Division Two champions after deciding he wanted to return to his native Corsica.
Moracchini had spent five seasons with Nancy and was the club's captain but has been cajoled into joining Ajaccio on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, Ajaccio coach Roland Courbis is negotiating with Bordeaux over a deal to bring defender Herve Alicarte (pictured) to the club.
Alicarte has barely figured at Parc Lescure this season but his previous top flight experience will be beneficial to Ajaccio's attempt to stay in Le Championnat.
