Mallorca to let Eto'o go
REAL MALLORCA are willing to let star striker Samuel Eto'o leave the club in the summer for a top side, according to the player's agent.
Tottenham, Arsenal, and Liverpool as well as Scottish giants Rangers are interested in signing the Cameroon international with the player himself declaring an interest in playing in England.
Mallorca know they face a losing battle to hang onto the highly-rated marksman and a number of clubs have watched him in action this season.
The player's agent Willie McKay confirmed to Planetfootball.com that he had held talks with Mallorca president Mateu Alemany in Malaga over Eto's future.
McKay admitted that the club would be willing to let him leave for a top club, but only once their survival was guaranteed.
The San Moix outfit are currently sitting fourth from bottom of the table just one point above the drop-zone with three games left of the season.
Alemany wants the former Real Madrid star to focus on helping the club avoid relegation before discussing his future.
"Eto'o is a close personal friend of the president (Alemany) and he is happy to let him go to a top club to fulfil his ambitions," McKay told planetfootball.com.
"Alemany has agreed to hold fire on any deal for a few weeks until the season is over as he wants to ensure the club's survival in La Liga.
"He wants Samuel to focus on the club's next few games and help them to safety in the league.
A number of Premiership clubs are expected to send over officials to watch Eto'o in action this weekend against Real Betis and McKay admitted that Spurs, Arsenal Liverpool and Rangers are leading the chase for him.
"There are six other Premiership clubs coming to watch Samuel this weekend in the home game with Real Betis, but Tottenham are very hot on his trail as are Arsenal, Liverpool and Rangers."
