Jon Dahl delight at Milan move

JON DAHL TOMASSON has expressed delight at sealing a deal with Milan.

The Feyenoord striker`s situation had been up in the air for some time, after it became clear that he would leave Holland in the summer, but Milan beat off competition from Barcelona to secure the Dane`s services.

After completing a medical and signing a deal that ties him to the San Siro until the summer of 2006, Tomasson said: "I am very proud to have arrived here, it is one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"I am now aiming to repay Milan for the faith they have showed in me.

"Milan have made a great impression on me, all the details and organisation seem perfect."

He is looking for his new team to finish fourth in Serie A, adding: "Now I am hoping that Milan can finish fourth because I dream of playing in the Champions League next year."

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admitted the capture was the culmination of a lengthy chase.

He said: "We have been following him for a long time, and I am sure he has the characteristics we need.

"He is able to score as well as set up his team-mates and can also play behind the front two."

Tomasson will now head back to Rotterdam and will hope to end his stint with Feyenoord on a positive note by helping them lift the Uefa Cup when they face Borussia Dortmund at De Kuip next week.
