Colusso jets home

OLDHAM ATHLETIC'S Argentine midfielder Cristian Colusso has returned home after failing to agree a contract with The Latics.

Athletic manager Mick Wadsworth (pictured) had hoped to sign the skilful player on a permanent basis for next season, after impressing since joining back in January on trial.

However, the 25-year-old how now flown to Buenos Aires without agreeing a new contract at the Lancashire club, despite two weeks of negotiations.

The club still hope a deal can be reached with the former Argentine Under-20 international, which would lead to the player returning for pre-season training on July 1.

The former Rosario Central man had hoped the stint in the English lower league would boost his chances of earning a contract with a higher league club, however no offer has yet been made for the star.
