Faulconbridge joins Chairboys

WYCOMBE have completed the long-awaited signing of striker Craig Faulconbridge from Wrexham, as the striker continues his career in Division Two, after The Dragons were relegated at the end of the season.

A youth trainee with Birmingham City, Faulconbridge started his career at Coventry City and has spent loan spells at Dunfermline Athletic and Hull City before moving to the Racecourse ground club on August 1999.

The Chairboys boss Laurie Sanchez has been keen on signing Faulconbridge for a long time and the former Wimbledon man told Wycombe's official website about his delight to have the marksman come to Adams Park.

Sanchez said: "I am delighted to have Craig join us, he is a natural goal-scorer and will fit in here very well.

"His signing brings the strike force to five and will put pressure on the others who will have to fight for places.

"Having cut the squad in the summer, Craig's arrival will add to the quality we need to achieve further improvement next season.

"At 24, he will also help to bring the age of the team down, which is something I am trying hard to do."
