Cole forced out of training

ASHLEY COLE has become the latest England player to miss training through injury.

The Arsenal full back suffered a slight knee ligament injury in the 1-1 draw with South Korea on Tuesday, which forced him out of training on Wednesday.

Cole had problems with his knee earlier this season with his club Arsenal, but the Football Association have played down fears that the injury is serious.

"Ashley has tweaked a knee ligament but it is nothing serious," confirmed FA spokesman Paul Newman.

"He has done a session in the gym and is just resting as a precaution."

Nicky Butt and Kieron Dyer, who both have knee injuries, both kept their training to a minimum, whilst Tottenham skipper Teddy Sheringham was forced out with a blister.

Captain David Beckham is still training by himself, but his rehabilitation is going well and he was kicking a ball for the first time since arriving in The Far East.
