Veron 'honoured' by Juve interest
Argentine ace Veron is presently preparing to play a pivotal role in his country's World Cup campaign and is focused on the immediate task in hand.
But the 27-year-old midfielder's remarks will do little to dispel the rumours that he will be heading for the Old Trafford exit door post-tournament.
Veron has endured heavy criticism since his £28 million switch to The Red Devils last summer and has regularly been linked with a return to former club Lazio.
Barcelona are also admirers of Veron's sublime skills but Italian giants Juventus are the latest club to be mooted as suitors of the Argentine.
The former Parma playmaker admits he is honoured to be linked with a transfer to the Old Lady and will ponder his future when his time in the Far East is concluded.
He said: "It's a great honour to know that Juventus are looking at me. It's natural to think that as they are one of the most important clubs in the world.
"When this adventure with Argentina is finished, at the end of June, I will consider my personal future.
"First of all, though, I have to think to the World Cup and the first game against Nigeria."
If Juventus do pursue their tentative interest in Veron, they could dangle Lilian Thuram as bait to entice the Argentine away from the clutches of Old Trafford.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have Thuram at the top of his wanted list but reports suggest the plc board have baulked at paying £20 million for the 30-year-old French defender.
However, the notion of a swap deal could be floated as a solution to suit all parties.
An alternative defensive target for Ferguson, though, could be Thuram's compatriot Philippe Christanval.
Reports indicate the Barcelona stopper may be surplus to requirements now that Louis van Gaal has returned to Camp Nou and Christanval would represent a younger, and cheaper, option to Thuram.
