Ljungberg a major doubt
Ljungberg hurt his hip in training earlier this week and he has not been able to train properly for two days.
It is now being suggested that the brilliant Gunner is just 50/50 to make the clash.
Ljungberg did not train with the rest of the Swedish squad on Friday and was forced to jog on his own.
"Had the match been today, I wouldn't have been able to play," he said after training. "But it does feel much, much better than yesterday.
"I have always said that the important thing is the match on Sunday, but I won't force anything, I would like to have a practice in my legs before then.
"I am used to it in England, to not always train before the next match."
Ljungberg still remains confident that he will make the opening game.
"I really hope that I will play, I do believe I will," he added.
"I am really hopeful.
"I have had laser, heat and electric treatment, then a massage on both sides to get the blood moving.
"It's like a knife hitting you when it hurts. When I take it easy, I don't feel anything, it's then when I make a quick move that it hurts."
Despite the obvious doubt to Ljungberg, it would still seem likely that the Arsenal man will play.
