Roma set for Sas operation

The 26-year-old is one of Turkey's most influential performers and the player known as the 'Ferrari' of the international squad impressed Capello during the Champions League.

Capello's Roma went out of the Champions League at the same time as Barcelona and Liverpool both progressed into Quarter finals of the Champions League.

Despite Roma's disappointment, Capello took note of Sas during his side's two 1-1 draws with the Turkish outfit.

"Hasan Sas impressed me the two times we played against him in the Champions League," said Capello.

"He did well against Cafu - who I consider one of the best players in the world - and I would consider having him."

Roma are unlikely to be the only side to show an interest in Sas, especially after he made such a superb start to his World Cup campaign when he volleyed Turkey into the lead against Brazil.
