Lyon confirm City Foe deal

EXCLUSIVE
MANCHESTER CITY have agreed a loan deal to sign Cameroon star Marc-Viven Foe from Lyon.

As exclusively revealed by planetfootball.com, City were tracking the powerful midfielder and were set to bring him back to England.

The French champions have confirmed that they have agreed terms with The Premiership new boys which will see the former West Ham ace move to Maine Road on loan for a year with a view to a permanent deal.

The player's agent Willie McKay confirmed the deal was initially a loan one with a view to a permanent move and he expects City to sign Foe on a long-term basis.

"Both clubs have agreed terms and all we are waiting on is for personal terms to be agreed," McKay told planetfootball.com.

"It is a loan deal for one season, with the option to sign him permanently in a £7 million deal."

"Marc is happy to be going back to The Premiership and I am sure that he will make a permanent move to Maine Road.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas also confirmed that an agreement had been reached between both clubs over Foe as the player had wanted a move away.

"He had asked us if he could go elsewhere and we reached an agreement with the English club's staff about him," Aulas told the club's official website.

Should Foe agree personal terms with City he will become the sixth new face at Maine Road this season following Peter Schmeichel, Mikkel Bischoff, Sylvain Distin, Nicolas Anelka and Vicente Vuoso.

City have still to clarify the situation with Foe, but he is expected to Kevin Keegan's top target as he aims to bring in one more new signing for next season.
