Earnshaw pens new City deal

EXCLUSIVE
ROBERT EARNSHAW'S agent Mel Eves has confirmed exclusively to planetfootball.com that the young Welsh starlet has agreed a new contract with Cardiff City.

The 21-year-old, who was in outstanding form for The Bluebirds last season, bagged 15 goals in 34 starts for the Second Division outfit.

When asked whether Earnshaw had put pen to paper on a new contract at Ninian Park, Eves stated: "Yes he has, yes."

Although the agent stated a new contract had been signed, he could not reveal the finer points of the deal only admitting that a deal had been completed.

"I'm not at liberty to actually say. All I'm saying is that he has signed a new deal at Cardiff.

"There is a confidentiality clause in his contract, so I can't disclose any of the details on the contract. All I can say is that he was on a four-year contract before."

Eves did say however, that it is an improved contract and that it is in line with some of the highest paid players in the lower leagues.

"We wouldn't have signed unless it was an improvement. It's not mega bucks, but he is very well paid for where he is in his development and also in the Second Division," added Eves.

Earnshaw's impressive performances for City this season and at international levelr are attracting interest, but as yet no official bids have been made for the £3 million rated star.

"There are Premiership sides that I know who are obviously looking at him," continued Eves. "Especially after his first class debut for Wales against Germany.

"That will make Premiership clubs sit up and obviously keep an eye on him. He's obviously happy at Cardiff, but like everyone else he is very ambitious."
