Ronaldinho: I meant it

RONALDINHO has stated that he meant to chip David Seaman from his 52nd minute free-kick that eventually proved decisive in Brazil's 2-1 win over England.

It was certainly an eventful game for Ronadinho, with the PSG star setting up Rivaldo's equaliser, scoring himself, then getting sent off for an over-the-ball tackle on Danny Mills.

With many observers, including Seaman claiming it was a fluke, Ronaldinho has insisted it was planned, having been initiated by Cafu's observations.

"I went for it and it came off.  He (Cafu) told me I should try and go for it because Seaman was standing off his line," said Ronaldinho.

David James retorted: "There is no way he has gone to shoot there. It was a mis-hit.

"As a goalkeeper any goal that goes in, you are looking to blame yourself and if it happens to be a winner, especially in a tournament like this, is it going to be hard.

"But he (Seaman) fully justified his selection in this tournament.  He has done well."
