Torino reject Lucarelli rumours

TORINO have dismissed reports that they are considering selling star man Cristiano Lucarelli.

The highly-rated striker has been linked with a move from Torino with a number of English clubs tracking his progress.

Sunderland, Everton, Fulham and Aston Villa have all been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old, but Torino are keen to keep him along with Simone Vergassola.

"These stories regarding his possible departure are pure inventions," said club owner Franco Cimminelli. "Lucarelli and midfielder Simone Vergassola will remain here despite stories claiming otherwise."

Meanwhile, Cimminelli also revealed that Toro boss Giancarlo Camolese was set to sign a new deal soon.

"We've spoken and reached an agreement," said Cimminelli. "And it will soon be made official that he will continue with us for the next two seasons."
