Emerson moves to Atletico
ATLETICO MADRID have completed the £4.2 million signing of Brazilian midfielder Emerson from Deportivo La Coruna.
The former Middlesbrough man, 30, penned a three-year contract in the Spanish capital while Atletico midfielder Jesus Munoz will join Deportivo as part of the deal.
Altletico won promotion to La Liga last term and are keen to rejoin the upper echelons of Spanish football after several years in the wilderness.
Emerson becomes Atletico's fourth summer signing with Sergi Barjuan arriving from Barcelona and Milan duo Javi Moreno and Fabricio Coloccini heading for the Vicente Calderon.
In a checkered career Emerson has played for Flamengo, Belenenses, FC Porto, Middlesbrough, Tenerife and La Coruna.
