Samways slams Las Palmas

VINNY SAMWAYS is furious with Las Palmas for blocking his move away from the Canary Island club.

The former Tottenham and Everton midfielder has had a very enjoyable stint in Spain, despite suffering disciplinary problems, and is known to be keen to clinch a transfer to Sevilla.

"I've been in negotiations with Las Palmas to try and organise a clean transfer," he revealed.

"We were close twice to an agreement but the problem is they have been taken over by a new consortium, and I've been disappointed with their attitude so far.

"Las Palmas have tried to play games.

"I've had five and a half years here so I'm disappointed at what's happening.

"It was disappointing to get relegated but I have the opportunity to play in the top flight, and feel it is time to move on.

"I gave good service to them and they've been great to me but these new guys coming in has meant we are in stalemate."

The move to Sevilla had all but been sealed, and Samways will be hoping the matter can be swiftly resolved.

Meanwhile, Sevilla have rejected a major bid from an un-named team for young striker Jose Antonio Reyes.

Although the forward is a target for Arsenal, local media reports suggest The Gunners were not the bidders.
