Sunderland snap up Myhre
The 28-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at The Stadium of Light and becomes Peter Reid's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Phil Babb and Sean Thornton.
The former Everton shot-stopper only moved to Turkey last season, but has jumped at the chance of a return to The Premiership after failing to settle in Istanbul.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to be joining Sunderland," said Myhre.
"They are a club I have experience of playing against during my days at Everton and they have huge support.
"I know a lot of the Sunderland players like Claudio Reyna, Gavin McCann and Thomas Sorensen.
"I have all kinds of respect for Tommy, he is a great goalkeeper and I'm sure we'll be able to push each other to higher levels. I'm looking forward to working with him."

Meanwhile, Tranmere Rovers have made an official complaint to the Football League about an alleged illegal approach from Sunderland for Sean Thornton.
Thornton completed his move to The Stadium of Light earlier this week, but Rovers are unhappy at the way the North-East club went about landing the midfielder.
"If Sunderland want Sean Thornton they will have to pay compensation and if necessary we will let a tribunal decide as we have a very strong case," said Rovers director Mick Horton. "The actions of Sean Thornton and Sunderland are in breach of FA and Football League regulations and we will be pursuing our complaint with them
