Fulham agree Sikora fee

VITESSE ARNHEM have claimed they have reached an agreement with Fulham over the sale of Victor Sikora, and expect a transfer to be concluded in the near future.

The Dutch outfit recently admitted defeat in their efforts to keep hold of the winger when he rejected a substantial pay increase to remain at the Gelredome, and The Cottagers emerged as favourites ahead of Ajax when Sikora expressed a preference to test himself in The Premiership.

Fulham stepped up their interest last week and Vitesse have confirmed that a deal that suits them has been struck with Jean Tigana`s club.

Vitesse communications officer Frank Huizinga said: "Vitesse have reached an agreement that satisfies us, although Sikora has not yet agreed terms with Fulham.

"However, we do not foresee any problems on this and expect things to be concluded soon."

The news will be a crushing blow to Ajax coach Ronald Koeman, who had been looking to raid his former club and land Sikora.

However, Vitesse were unwilling to reduce their demands below £4 million and it seems Fulham have matched their asking price.

When asked to comment on the interest of Ajax, Huizinga added: "We will not comment on the transfer fee, but it is higher than the offers received from Ajax."
